Hongry, Hongry Hippos Family!
In the middle of a sick / busy weekend, Noah took time off from lying in bed coughing, Mommy took time off from knitting, and Daddy took time off from a few special projects to sit down and have some good, old-fashioned fun: Hungry, Hungry Hippos!!!

The kid likes the game.

If these fun pictures have made you smile or brought back memories of your favorite game, why don't you take a moment to de-lurk and leave a comment below, telling us all about it!

Jenni, your hair is so long! I think mine is almost as long as yours now; we will have to compare over Thanksgiving. ; )
I'd completely forgotten about Hi Ho Cherry-O! That's a great game! To be honest, I don't really remember playing that many board games as a kid, but I do remember being really, really excited when I got Operation! (Ironic, isn't it? My favorite game as a kid, pretending to be a surgeon? Hehehe..) Hungry Hippos at the Thornton's house was always something I looked forward to, and I have fond memories of Monopoly and Life with you & Matty!

I sure wonder who in the game business thought up "Hungry Hungry Hippos." I mean, how did they pitch that one?
Well, I grew up playing board games because my daddy loved them. In fact, my brothers and I almost came to blows a few years ago when it came time to decide who got those old, old editions of Monopoly and Clue. It's hard to say what my favorite game was. I loved Chutes and Ladders when I was really little. And my best friend and I would stay up all night playing Monopoly when I was in junior high school. And Jenni, didn't we play quite a few games of Sorry and Parcheesi when you were little?
Wow, didn't realize games were such a big part of my life. Thanks for bringing up the subject!
